Opposite of Far + Indi Scout

This was my first big collab. I had the idea of using my fringe hoodie as wings and doing a “black bird singing in the dead of night” photo shoot. Jessica from Opposite of Far, was gracious enough to jump in feet first with me.  A couple things that make this very special to me….

  1. Whenever singing or listening to this song, my daughter often says, “you can’t fly with broken wings!”  I then get to take the time to discuss that sometimes things in life are broken or don’t seem to be working, and you have to take that and find a way. Keep your head up, a song in your heart, and find a way through the tough times.
  2. When I first gave my daughter a fringe hoodie she immediately noticed it was like wings. She then started “flying” around the house and yard. This was with out me ever mentioning this concept, it really made my heart sing.

Thank you all for taking the time to give Jessica and myself a look at what we have put together. Purchase the set here: http://indiscout.com/product/black_bird/

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly
Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night

Blackbird fly
Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
